Burgundy - Here We Go

The cornerstone of our trip was spending 6 days in the wine region of Burgundy. Our fearless leader, Sebastien Marquet and Isabelle Truchot led us around the region and opening our eyes to the beauty and richness of the Burgundian wine industry.

Our group was based in Beaune and for 5 consecutive days we traveled to wineries, chateaus, vineyards, and basements to understand just a bit of what makes Burgundy such a special place.

There are over 4K winemakers in Burgundy and we visited only a handful. The complexity of how Burgundy organizes their wine —- their villages, their plots, and the winemakers —- makes this great region accessible to so many amazing vintners while at the same time keeping a shroud of mystery and interest as connoisseurs across the globe enjoy finding a great, little known appellation from a small, unknown village.

Let the tasting begin!
